About Nola Nola was born in Cape Town in 1949 and matriculated at Wynberg Girls' High School. Her art career started in earnest after a variety of art-related jobs. A short spell as a draughtswoman in the town planning offices of Cape Town, a visualiser in advertising with Lindsay Smithers and a founding partner of the original In-Fin-Art. It was there that she held her first exhibition in 1976. She has had 17 solo exhibitions in South Africa and participated in numerous group shows. In 1999 she exhibited five canvases and was awarded a Gold Medal at Vichy, France. Her work can be found in many private and corporate collections in South Africa, America, England, Australia and Europe. In 2003 she took part in the "What is Life?" competition and had the work "Kebab of Life" chosen which was exhibited at the National Museum in Cape Town. Her art currently encompasses both watercolours, acrylics, pencil drawings and natural weather-worn artefacts in sculptured form.
